Woman convicted for the chilling crime against her partner claims insanity in court; she continued with the heinous actions even after his death

A woman has been convicted of a chilling crime against her partner. Amid allegations of methamphetamine use and a grisly scene that few could have imagined, the incident has captured the community’s attention and provoked challenging discussions about the complexities of criminal behavior intertwined with substance abuse and potential mental health issues.

The 25-year-old Taylor has been convicted of the heinous crime of taking the life of her partner during a methamphetamine-fueled incident.

Ms. Taylor was formally convicted on charges including homicide, third-degree se-ual abuse, and mutilating a corpse related to the 2022 slaying of her boyfriend, 24-year-old Shad. Taylor had entered a plea of not guilty on grounds of insanity.

A jury took just 30 minutes to convict her on all counts of first-degree intentional homicide, mutilation of a corpse, and third-degree se-ual assault in Shad’s death.

In early 2022, a harrowing discovery was made in the basement of Shad’s family residence: the mutilated head of the victim, Shad, as stated in a legal complaint. Subsequent investigations by the police uncovered more remains on the premises. Shad’s torso, pe-is, and carved-out organs were later found by law enforcement in her basement. The gruesome nature of the murder was on full display in court as Taylor went on trial charged with his murder.

The prosecution’s case was bolstered by Taylor’s admission, in which she confessed to causing Shad’s death. Police records also indicate the recovery of suspected methamphetamine and a glass pipe from the location.

The trial prominently featured the playback of body camera recordings, capturing the scene’s grim nature. The district attorney stated in his closing remarks, “This is a highly unusual and unsettling case. However, it’s evident that Taylor was responsible for Shad’s demise.”

Police Detective David testified in court that Taylor allegedly admitted to enjoying the ordeal.

“Her response was that she liked it,” Detective David said, according to a local news station.

Detective David testified that Taylor initially claimed to have blacked out while choking Shad, but then allegedly admitted thinking that she regained consciousness and thought she was “already this far,” so she just kept on, referring to choking the victim.

The criminal complaint also read: “Taylor stated she thought it took 3-5 minutes for the victim to die. Detective Kempf clarified with Taylor that when the victim began to cough up blood, she just kept on choking the victim because she wanted to see what happens.”

“Taylor stated she enjoyed choking him and made comments to detectives, asking if they knew what it was like to love something so much that you kill it.”

Taylor allegedly went on to tell law enforcement that she continued having se- with the dead body for a period of time because she enjoyed it and then gathered kitchen knives with the intention to dismember Shad and keep all his body parts, “but she got lazy,” according to news outlets.

Taylor allegedly indicated the crime scene and told officers that they would “have fun trying to find all of the organs”.

Taylor entered a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity entered by her former attorney.

Currently, Taylor continues to be held at a detention facility, as per online records. She faces life in prison, as the death penalty is not legal in the state.
