Father claimed his 2-year-old son, whose body was found at a garbage collection facility, was kidnapped during an armed robbery but an investigation showed the shocking truth

The community has been rocked by a distressing turn in the case of a missing 2-year-old. The boy, who disappeared last month, was the center of a fervent search operation following reports of his alleged kidnapping during an armed robbery. However, in a tragic twist, authorities have now identified a body found at a local garbage facility as the young boy and his father is the prime suspect.

Authorities have confirmed the identification of a body found at a garbage collection facility as 2-year-old J’Asiah. The police department stated that the child’s father, 23-year-old Artavoius, faces charges including murder, concealing a death, and cruelty to children.

Earlier, Artavoius had claimed that his son was kidnapped during an armed robbery, leading to an intensive search operation. As the investigation progressed, inconsistencies in Artavoius’s account emerged. Shortly after the child was declared missing, the police charged Artavoius with lying about the robbery to police. With Artavoius being the last individual to have seen J’Asiah, he became a prime suspect.

A week following J’Asiah’s disappearance, his body was located. The police department released a statement: “Detectives were notified by the Bureau of Investigation that the child found at the East Point Transfer Station on August 23, 2023, has been positively identified as J’Asiah.” Moreover, court documents reveal Artavoius faces additional charges, including misdemeanor false report of a crime and felony making false statements.
