Ivanka Trump’s path to a solo political career, heavily distanced from ex-prez Donald Trump, is now open

Ivanka Trump, the eldest daughter of former U.S. President Donald Trump, seems to be distancing herself from her father’s prospective 2024 presidential campaign. This comes after recent events that now allow her and her husband, Jared Kushner, to pursue their individual political careers. Until recently, they were “forced” to abandon their political aspiration due to involvement with former president Trump’s legal case in which Ivanka was also mentioned.

A month ago, the Trump family was embroiled in further legal controversy when a substantial victory was handed to Ivanka by a New York appeals court. The decision was related to a $250 million civil lawsuit, instigated by New York Attorney General Letitia James, from which Ivanka has now been formally dismissed.

The lawsuit encompassed allegations against Ivanka Trump, former President Donald Trump, and her adult siblings, Donald Jr. and Eric. They were collectively accused of artificially inflating the assets of the Trump Organization to secure favorable loan agreements.

A fervent battle was waged by Ivanka and her legal counsel to counter these allegations, centering on her contention that the aspects of business in question were beyond her purview and, in some instances, transpired after her tenure within her father’s company.

The cogency of this argument was buttressed by the expiration of the state’s statute of limitations regarding earlier claims, coupled with subsequent assertions that confirmed Ivanka’s departure from the Trump Organization.

According to court documents obtained by CBS News, Ivanka’s legal team argued that the lawsuit “does not contain a single allegation that Ms. Trump directly or indirectly created, prepared, reviewed, or certified any of her father’s financial statements.”

While this ruling brought relief to Ivanka, it did not absolve her brothers, Donald Jr. and Eric, nor her father from the impending trial, which is anticipated to commence in October. The specter of legal proceedings continues to loom large over the family, casting a pall over their future endeavors.

Undoubtedly, the dismissal from the lawsuit has provided Ivanka with a sigh of relief, severing a major connection to her family’s ongoing legal entanglements. Her newfound independence, emphasized since her departure from the White House, has been a recurrent theme.

With this legal burden lifted, many speculate that Ivanka might take even more pronounced steps away from her father, both personally and professionally. This speculation is fueled by repeated assertions from multiple sources that Ivanka Trump envisions herself with a future in politics, an ambition now perhaps unencumbered by familial complexities.
