Gas prices in Roanoke down 3.2 cents from a week ago

Roanoke, Virginia – Gas prices in Roanoke have been experiencing a steady decline. According to the latest survey by GasBuddy, an online platform that tracks fuel prices across the nation, gasoline prices in Roanoke have fallen by 3.2 cents per gallon in the last week alone.

As of today, the average price of gasoline in Roanoke stands at a modest $3.16 per gallon, reflecting a remarkable decline from the previous month where prices were 4.1 cents per gallon higher. Moreover, when we compare today’s prices to the same time last year, the difference is staggering, with prices standing at a whopping 93.7 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.

The national average price of diesel has also been impacted by the overall trend, experiencing a significant fall of 5.6 cents per gallon in just the last week. As of today, diesel prices stand at $4.25 per gallon.

As per the latest survey, the cheapest gas station in Roanoke was offering gasoline at a remarkable price of $2.98 per gallon, while the most expensive was charging $3.39 per gallon, marking a difference of 41 cents per gallon. This is a clear indicator of how the pricing spectrum can vary within a region, making it crucial for drivers to be vigilant and informed when it comes to choosing the right gas station.

The state of Virginia is also experiencing a similar trend, with the lowest gas price reported yesterday standing at $2.75 per gallon, while the highest was a staggering $3.99 per gallon, showcasing a significant difference of $1.24 per gallon. These variations in gas prices can have a significant impact on drivers’ pockets and highlight the importance of careful planning and budgeting.

As we look beyond the state level, the national average price of gasoline has fallen by 4.2 cents per gallon in the last week, bringing the average price down to $3.40 per gallon. However, when compared to a month ago, the national average price has risen by 4.3 cents per gallon, indicating a fluctuating trend in the market. Yet, when we compare today’s prices to the same time last year, the difference is staggering, with prices standing at a remarkable 82.9 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.
