Roanoke City and Alleghany Health Districts will host a Women’s Health and Resource Fair

Roanoke, Virginia – The Health Department’s efforts to restore regular operations after the pandemic-induced hiatus have been nothing short of commendable. With the aim of reintroducing the community to a wide range of health services and programs, the department has organized an interactive and engaging health fair in Roanoke, scheduled to take place on March 18th.

This event is an excellent opportunity for the department to demonstrate its commitment to the community’s health and well-being while fostering a sense of togetherness and collaboration.

Annie Morgan, the Community Health Outreach Supervisor at the Roanoke City and Alleghany Health Districts, has been working tirelessly to find innovative ways to highlight the abundance of resources available to the public that go beyond just COVID-19 vaccines. With a passion for promoting the well-being of her community, Morgan has spearheaded an event that promises to be a true celebration of health and wellness.

This event will provide a wealth of education and health services, including valuable insights from public health nurses and outreach staff, who will be on hand to offer their expert knowledge on a variety of health-related topics. Attendees can expect to receive invaluable advice on everything from safe sleep tips for infants to accessing free medical equipment, Medicaid, affordable childcare, LOA services, affordable health insurance, and more. The event will also feature the “New Moms Under Pressure” program, an initiative that is dedicated to providing support for new mothers during the challenging and transformative postpartum period.

The upcoming Women’s Health and Resource Fair is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 18th, from 11am to 2pm, and will be held at Grace Covenant Church located at 756 Peters Creek Rd NW in Roanoke.
