Gasoline prices in Roanoke see a slight decline

Roanoke, Virginia – Recent data from GasBuddy reveals that the average gasoline price in Roanoke has experienced a decline of 0.4 cents per gallon over the past week, with the current rate standing at $3.49 per gallon.

This figure is based on a survey encompassing 155 Roanoke stations. Notably, the current prices are 3.9 cents less than the preceding month but are 21.3 cents more than the rates from the same period last year.

On a broader scale, the national average for diesel has decreased by 0.9 cents in the past week, resulting in a current rate of $4.426 per gallon.

A closer inspection of GasBuddy’s pricing data indicated a disparity within Roanoke’s gas prices. As of yesterday, the most affordable station was priced at $3.29 per gallon, while the highest was at $3.79 per gallon – a notable difference of 50 cents. Within the state’s boundaries, the prices varied between $2.99 and $4.47 per gallon, a substantial difference of $1.48.

On the national front, gasoline prices have witnessed a modest increase of 1.6 cents over the previous week, resulting in a current national average of $3.79 per gallon. According to comprehensive data aggregated by GasBuddy from over 11 million weekly reports spanning more than 150,000 stations nationwide, the national average displays a decline of 3 cents from the past month. However, it remains 11.4 cents more than the rates from the previous year.
