Roanoke residents invited to free Black Family Wellness Expo at the Family Life Center at Pilgrim Baptist Church

Roanoke, Virginia – The Roanoke City Sheriff’s Office invites the community to join The Links, Incorporated in this year’s Black Family Wellness Expo, an event dedicated to promoting physical, financial, and emotional well-being. Scheduled for Saturday, March 15, 2025, this free community event will take place from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Family Life Center, Pilgrim Baptist Church, located at 1415 8th Street NW, Roanoke, VA 24016.

A Free Event Open to All

The Black Family Wellness Expo is part of the National Impact Day of Service, offering a wide range of services to help families improve their overall well-being. Attendees will have access to expert advice and free resources covering several key areas, including:

  • Heart Health & Stroke Prevention
  • Alzheimer’s and Caregiver Support
  • Dental Health & Free Hearing Tests
  • Mental Health & Suicide Prevention Services
  • Cancer Awareness & Family Planning
  • Financial Wellness & Tax Preparation Assistance
  • Senior Services through AARP
  • Motherhood Support & Kid-Friendly Activities

The event also features healthy snacks, raffles, giveaways, and interactive sessions to engage the entire family.

One of the highlights of the event will be an instructional soul line dance session led by Tracy Saunders of Fitness Fun with Tracy (FFWT) from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Participants are encouraged to wear their favorite shade of green and bring their largest “Clack Fan” for a lively dance experience featuring “Boots on the Ground.”

The Roanoke City Sheriff’s Office encourages residents to take advantage of this opportunity to connect with community resources, learn valuable health tips, and invest in their well-being. Whether you’re looking to improve your physical fitness, gain financial guidance, or find mental health support, this event provides something for everyone.
