$1 million Powerball ticket sold in Ashburn remains unclaimed after Monday’s drawing
Ashburn, Virginia – A Powerball ticket purchased at the Harris Teeter in Ashburn, Virginia, for Monday night’s drawing has turned into a life-changing $1 million prize. The winning ticket matched the first five numbers—5, 35, 45, 60, and 63—but missed the Powerball number 12.
The Only Million-Dollar Winner in the Nation
This ticket was the only one nationwide to match the first five numbers for the November 25 Powerball drawing, securing the $1 million prize. However, no ticket matched all six numbers, meaning the estimated $184 million jackpot went unclaimed. The jackpot now rolls over to an estimated $196 million for the next drawing on Wednesday.
What the Winner Should Do
The Virginia Lottery encourages the ticket holder to act quickly. The winner has 180 days from the drawing date to claim the prize. To ensure the ticket is protected, the Lottery advises, “Before doing anything else, the winner should immediately sign the back of the ticket to establish ownership.” When ready to claim the prize, the winner should contact the Virginia Lottery directly.
A Bonus for the Store
The Harris Teeter store that sold the winning ticket will also benefit, receiving a $10,000 bonus from the Virginia Lottery for selling the $1 million ticket.
