Roanoke City Sheriff’s Office launches Holiday Spectacular to support families in need

Roanoke, Virginia – The Roanoke City Sheriff’s Office is spreading holiday cheer this season by organizing a Holiday Spectacular to assist local families in need. The initiative aims to bring joy to 100 families, who have already applied for support, by providing essential items, gifts, and holiday cheer.

How the Community Can Help

The Sheriff’s Office is calling on the generosity of local businesses, churches, and community partners to make this initiative a success. They are accepting donations of various items, including:

  • Children’s toys
  • Blankets, hats, scarves, and mittens
  • Children’s bicycles
  • Tennis shoes and garments
  • Kitchen utensils and other household items

Donations can be dropped off at:
340 Campbell Ave SW, Roanoke, VA 24016
Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Making the Holidays Bright

The Sheriff’s Office emphasizes that even the smallest gesture can make a BIG impact on families facing difficult times. “As we enter a season of giving, let’s remember that there are many in our community who are facing difficult times,” they stated. Whether it’s providing a warm meal, a new coat, or a toy for a child, each contribution helps bring love and warmth to these families during the holiday season.

Additional Ways to Support

Apart from donations, community members can also:

  • Volunteer their time to help pack and distribute gifts.
  • Spread the word by sharing this initiative with others.

By working together, the Roanoke community can help ensure these families experience the magic of the holidays. The Sheriff’s Office encourages everyone to join them in creating lasting memories for those who need it most.

This holiday season, let’s come together to give back and make a difference in the lives of others.
