Surveys open through September 30 for public feedback on road safety solutions in Roanoke County, Botetourt County, and the Town of Vinton

Roanoke, Virginia – Roanoke County, Botetourt County, and the Town of Vinton are working together on a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan as part of the Federal Highway Administration’s Safe Streets and Roads For All (SS4A) program. The initiative aims to prevent fatalities and serious injuries for all road users, including pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists, commercial vehicle operators, transit riders, and micromobility users.

Approximately 50 people attended community meetings over the past two weeks to discuss safety concerns. Now, local officials are seeking public input on proposed solutions for high-risk intersections and corridors, including Routes 11, 24, 116, 220, 221, 311, 419, and 460. Residents are encouraged to share their feedback through online surveys, which are open until September 30, 2024.
