Roanoke County residents invited to share their opinions on road improvement plans

Roanoke, Virginia – The Virginia Department of Transportation, along with Roanoke County, hosted a significant community meeting this past Monday. The focus was on gathering public input for potential changes to Peters Creek Road and Williamson Road areas, particularly aiming to enhance several key intersections.

The event took place at Hollins Library, where residents of the area were encouraged to share their thoughts and concerns. The intersections under consideration for improvements include those between Wood Haven Road and Plantation Road. Attendees were presented with the proposed enhancements, which not only aim to improve traffic flow but also introduce new pedestrian accommodations, making the area safer and more accessible for those on foot.

For those who could not make it to the meeting but still wish to voice their opinions, the organizers have set up an online survey. This survey is a vital part of the consultation process, ensuring that all community members have the opportunity to contribute. It will remain open until April 1, giving plenty of time for additional feedback. To participate in the survey or for more information about the road improvement plans, community members are encouraged to visit the project’s website.
