Man picked up his ex-girlfriend when her shift at the hospital had ended and took her to a wooded area where he pulled out a knife and stabbed her repeatedly, inflicting over 25 wounds; sentenced!

According to court records, a 51-year-old man who had a past conviction for robbery, later identified as Wayne, has been given a sentence of 25 years to life for the murder of his former partner, 46-year-old nurse Sandra, in July 2021. Sandra met a tragic end, suffering over 25 stab wounds inflicted by Wayne.

The events leading to this tragedy began when Wayne, after spending the day driving Sandra’s white car, picked her up from her nursing job. Despite their separation months before, Wayne claimed his visit to Sandra’s residence was to collect personal items. However, the day took a dark turn when witnesses observed the vehicle being driven erratically before stopping near a wooded area.

Eyewitnesses described a physical altercation between Wayne and Sandra outside the car. The District Attorney revealed that Wayne stabbed Sandra repeatedly with a knife, inflicting fatal wounds to her heart and lung. Wayne fled the scene in her car following the incident, leaving Sandra desperately screaming for help while bleeding heavily.

A local found Sandra, and she was quickly transported to a hospital, where she was later declared deceased. Authorities swiftly initiated a search for Wayne, discovering Sandra’s vehicle stained with blood both inside and out. Security footage and eyewitness testimony linked Wayne to the crime, leading to his arrest a week after the murder.

During the trial, compelling evidence against Wayne was presented, including DNA mixtures found in the blood stains in the vehicle, matching both Sandra and Wayne. Wayne, who previously spent 14 years in prison on a robbery charge, was convicted of second-degree murder in December.
