13-year-old boy engaged in an argument with 60-year-old old man while riding a bus and got furious because he was blocking the aisle before pulling out a gun and shooting the man multiple times to death; arrested!

Police said that a 13-year-old boy, whose identity has been withheld due to his age, has been arrested following the fatal shooting of a 60-year-old man, later identified as Richard. The dispute, which stemmed from a minor inconvenience on a public bus, escalated into violence, resulting in Richard’s untimely death and leaving his family to grapple with the loss.

The altercation occurred on the evening of January 27, and police were immediately called to a scene. Upon arrival, officers found Richard suffering from a gunshot wound. He was just a few blocks from home when the incident unfolded. Despite the efforts of the first responders, Richard was pronounced dead at the hospital. Initial investigations suggest that the conflict arose from Richard’s leg blocking the bus aisle, leading to a verbal exchange between him and the suspect, a 13-year-old boy, who then pulled out a gun and shot Richard multiple times.

In addition to Richard’s fatal injury, another passenger sustained a minor injury during the incident but did not require hospitalization. Authorities were stunned by the violence that erupted from what began as a minor dispute on public transportation. Richard’s daughter, Krystal, has turned to a GoFundMe campaign to cover the funeral expenses, sharing her disbelief and sorrow over the sudden loss of her father. “Our dad was just trying to get home to his daughters and grandsons but never arrived,” she stated. The family’s grief is compounded by the fact that Sanchez was alone at the time of his death, with no loved ones by his side during his final moments.

Joseph, Richard’s grandson, expressed his devastation to the media, highlighting the character of his grandfather and the difficulty in comprehending the senseless act that took his life. The family remembers Richard as an honest and loving figure whose absence leaves a void that cannot be filled. The teenager suspected of the shooting is currently in custody, with police investigating the case as first-degree murder. Formal charges are yet to be determined by prosecutors, but the arrest marks the first step toward seeking justice for Richard and his family.
