Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport set for major parking lot revamp

Roanoke, Virginia – The Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport is gearing up for a significant parking lot enhancement project, set to begin in February and span over 15 months.

Project Details and Changes for Passengers

This extensive renovation aims to improve the overall parking experience for travelers. The upgrades will include a comprehensive repaving and restriping of the parking lot. Additionally, the project will introduce larger parking spaces and drive lanes to accommodate vehicles more comfortably.

A key feature of the project is the installation of new lighting, which will enhance visibility and safety. The airport is also future-proofing its facilities by including infrastructure for electric vehicle charging, catering to the growing number of electric vehicle users.

During the project, the airport will close portions of the parking lot in phases to facilitate the renovations. This means that entry points into the parking lots will be altered for the duration of the project, starting on January 29. Passengers planning to use the airport during this period should be prepared for these changes and allow extra time for parking.
