Quick response by firefighters prevents injuries in Roanoke fire

Roanoke, Virginia – A recent fire incident in Roanoke thankfully resulted in no injuries, according to firefighter reports. The event occurred late at night and involved a large debris pile.

The Roanoke Fire Department detailed that their crews were sent out to tackle a structure fire. This call came in at around 10:48 p.m. on Thursday. The location was pinpointed at the 2800 block of Orange Ave. NE, a spot that soon became the focus of the emergency response.

On getting to the scene, the firefighters were met with visible signs of the blaze. They reported seeing smoke and flames emanating from a large pile of debris. The situation was significant enough to prompt immediate action.

Interestingly, the demolition crew at the site were the ones who first noticed the fire. They observed smoke and flames and didn’t delay in calling for help.

A crucial step in handling the fire involved the local power company, AEP. They were promptly called to the scene. After assessing the situation, AEP discovered that power was still being supplied to the affected structure. They acted quickly and shut off the power, a move that was essential for safety and effective firefighting.

Fire crews stayed on site, diligently working to contain the fire. Their efforts ensured that the blaze did not spread and was effectively controlled.

Firefighters confirmed that there were no injuries from the incident.
