Man hospitalized after a shooting in Roanoke, police investigate

Roanoke, Virginia – On Tuesday night, a shooting incident occurred in Roanoke which left one man hospitalized, as per the Roanoke Police Department.

According to authorities, the injured individual was transported to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital by private means with a gunshot wound at approximately 10:50 p.m. The man was immediately attended by officers upon his arrival, and he was reported to have non-life-threatening injuries.

As of now, the Roanoke Police Department has not identified any crime scene or suspect for this unfortunate occurrence, and the investigation is still underway.

Officers are appealing to the public for information that may help solve the case. Any person with any information is urged to call (540)344-8500 or send an anonymous text beginning with “RoanokePD” to 274637.

This situation is yet another unfortunate reminder of the pervasive gun violence that has become all too common in our society, and we implore authorities to do everything in their power to identify and bring the perpetrator to justice.
