In an exciting announcement late Monday afternoon, the City introduced two new Assistant City Managers, including Chief Roman, who was confirmed by the City Council during Monday’s meeting.

Having served with the Roanoke City Police Department for over 25 years and appointed as Chief of Police in March 2020, Roman is eager to assume his new role as a leader in City management. “I look forward to my new role within City leadership as I continue to work with our community and the dedicated team members of Roanoke,” Roman said in a statement.

“I am beyond thrilled to have been selected to assist the City Manager in the day-to-day operations of our community development programs and strategic initiatives.
