Firefighter receives medical attention during Roanoke fire operation

Roanoke, Virginia – During a fire incident in Roanoke on Thursday morning, a firefighter required medical attention due to a medical complication.

Roanoke FireEMS reported that emergency crews have been diligently working at the site of a multi-residential structure fire in the 1100 block of Tazewell SE since 11:22 a.m.

Initially, there were reports suggesting the presence of two individuals trapped within the affected home. However, upon arrival, the responding teams were confronted with intense smoke and flames engulfing the primary residence, as well as fire extending to two neighboring homes.

In response to the escalating situation, additional resources were summoned as a second alarm was issued. Thankfully, upon swift entry into the home, it was discovered that all four occupants had successfully evacuated.

Efforts to suppress the fire were successful, and investigators are presently present at the scene, diligently working to establish the cause of the incident.

Regarding the firefighter who received medical treatment, it is anticipated that a full recovery will be made, offering reassurance amidst the challenging circumstances.
