Hampton woman wins one hundred thousand dollars after trying new Clue scratcher game

Hampton, Virginia – A Hampton resident’s casual decision to try a new scratcher game turned into a life-changing moment after she scored a $100,000 top prize. Nicole Humphrey, who lives in Hampton, picked up five tickets for the Virginia Lottery’s new Clue game and brought them home, not knowing that one would hold the grand prize.

When she discovered the winning ticket, she was stunned. “I’ve been up all night checking every five minutes just to make sure it doesn’t disappear!” Humphrey said with excitement after arriving early the next morning at the Virginia Lottery’s Hampton Roads customer service center.

The Clue scratcher game, themed after the classic mystery board game, is among dozens of options offered by the Virginia Lottery. The game features prizes that range from $5 all the way up to the $100,000 jackpot that Humphrey claimed. According to lottery officials, this was the first top prize to be claimed in the game, meaning that two more top prizes are still out there waiting to be won.

The odds of hitting the $100,000 top prize in the Clue game are 1 in 1,101,600, while the odds of winning any prize are approximately 1 in 4.54.

When asked how she plans to celebrate the win, Humphrey didn’t hold back. “I’m going to party like no other!” she said, beaming with joy.

As for what’s next, she has not revealed any specific plans, but one thing’s for sure—this unexpected windfall has brought some thrilling excitement to Hampton.
