Roanoke County announces holiday closures and adjusted trash collection for Presidents Day

Roanoke, Virginia – Residents of Roanoke County should be aware of several closures and service changes scheduled for Presidents Day on Monday, February 17, 2025. County administrative offices will be closed for the holiday, along with several other public facilities.

Changes to Trash Collection and Public Services

Due to the holiday, trash collection services will be delayed by one day for the entire week. Residents should plan accordingly for the adjusted pickup schedule.

Roanoke County Public Libraries will also be closed, along with the Brambleton Center and the Public Service Center. Additionally, CORTRAN, the county’s transportation service, will not be in operation for the day.

Facilities That Will Remain Open

The Green Ridge Recreation Center will remain open with adjusted hours, welcoming visitors from 5:30 AM to 8:00 PM.

Court Closures

Roanoke County Circuit Court will not be in session on Presidents Day. Anyone with court-related matters should plan to handle them on the following business day.

Residents are encouraged to take note of these adjustments and plan ahead to avoid disruptions.
