Healthy foods restaurant closes in Roanoke

Roanoke, Virginia – CoreLife Eatery, a popular restaurant specializing in healthy foods located on Franklin Road in Roanoke, has officially closed its doors. The closure was announced through a sign posted on the restaurant’s door, marking December 29 as its last day of operation. This shutdown marks the end of a local spot known for its commitment to healthy, scratch-made meals.

The posted sign provided insight into the reasons behind the closure. It stated, “We have reached a point where we are unable to continue our operations.” This message suggests a culmination of challenges that the restaurant could no longer overcome. The timing of its opening, coinciding with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, presented unique difficulties. As a franchisee within a larger franchise system, CoreLife Eatery struggled with the pace of adapting to a new business model during this tumultuous period. The sign highlighted that “changes did not come fast enough to us at the Operator level,” indicating operational challenges in adapting to the rapidly changing business environment during the pandemic.

Despite the closure, the restaurant’s owners expressed gratitude towards their staff, customers, and the community. Their message, “Thank you for taking a chance and doing your best to support a radical idea that scratch-made, healthy eating, can have a place in our communities,” reflects a heartfelt appreciation for the support they received. It underscores their belief in the value of healthy eating options within the community.

Their commitment to their customers remains evident even in closure, as the sign provided contact information for any outstanding orders or inquiries. Customers can reach out to [email protected] or call their main office at 980-296-2333 for any unresolved issues.
