House fire in NW Roanoke causes significant damage

Roanoke, Virginia – A residential fire on Monday morning in NW Roanoke led to substantial property damage, with estimates reaching $20,000.

Roanoke Fire-EMS crews were dispatched to the scene of a house fire in the 2000 block of Mercer Ave. NW, following reports of the blaze that broke out around 5:30 a.m. The firefighters were able to quickly contain the fire, preventing further spread and potential additional damage to the property.

In the midst of addressing the fire, one individual was transported to the hospital. However, officials noted that this hospital visit was for reasons unrelated to the fire incident.

The situation was handled efficiently by the Roanoke Fire-EMS, ensuring the safety of the residents and minimizing the impact of the fire. Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
