Pedestrian hospitalized after being struck by vehicle in Roanoke, driver cooperating with police

Roanoke, Virginia – An individual is currently receiving medical attention in a hospital, following a vehicular incident in Roanoke on Tuesday evening.

The collision was reported to law enforcement officers on June 20, close to 9:50 p.m., at the juncture of 2nd Street and Franklin Road SW. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers discovered an unconscious man lying on the road, who was subsequently transported to a medical facility for necessary treatment.

Initial reports from the Roanoke Police Department, shared with WFXR News, suggest that the vehicle was advancing northbound on 2nd Street SW when the pedestrian, allegedly stepping onto the roadway, was struck.

Authorities also confirmed that the driver implicated in the incident remained at the location and is actively cooperating with their ongoing investigation.

As of now, the case is still under scrutiny, and no legal charges have been instituted. Further updates on this matter will be communicated as more information becomes available.
