Falls Church mail carrier admits to damaging government property during workplace dispute

Falls Church, Virginia – A Falls Church woman, Lolita Brickhouse, 31, has pleaded guilty to causing damage to property of the United States, following a violent outburst at her workplace earlier this year.

A Workplace Dispute Turns Destructive

According to court documents, on January 16, Brickhouse, who worked as a mail carrier, finished her shift and realized she could not find her cellphone. She began accusing other USPS employees and supervisors of stealing it, leading to a heated scene inside the postal facility. Brickhouse aggressively knocked over and threw objects, insulted her supervisors and coworkers, and even taunted them to call the police.

Her actions escalated when she took a set of vehicle keys without permission and went to the parking lot. There, she got into a USPS vehicle and deliberately rammed it into another USPS vehicle. The impact was so strong that the second vehicle crashed into and damaged a third USPS vehicle.

After the collision, Brickhouse exited the vehicle and used a metal water bottle to smash the driver-side window. The second USPS vehicle was declared totaled due to the severity of the damage.

Upcoming Sentencing

Brickhouse is scheduled to be sentenced on October 16 and faces up to 10 years in prison. However, federal sentences are usually less than the maximum allowed. A federal district court judge will determine her sentence after reviewing the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other legal factors.

The incident left the postal facility with major property damage and highlighted the serious consequences of such violent workplace behavior.
