Discover the mysterious world of nocturnal animals in Mill Mountain Zoo

Roanoke, Virginia – Mill Mountain Zoo is a non-profit conservation zoo located in Roanoke.

The zoo is home to 85 animals among 35 species, including two species on the endangered list, the red panda and snow leopard. It is constantly undergoing changes with a variety of species being added including the opening of an interactive aviary in 2008 and a reptile house in 2009.

Mill Mountain Zoo also hosts events such as Night Howls on the third Thursday of the month from October through March where visitors can learn about how animals behave at night and all their sounds.

Experience the thrill of the night at the Zoo’s nocturnal animal tour! The event kicks off with warm cider and freshly baked cookies, as participants learn about the various nocturnal creatures that inhabit the Zoo.

After a brief introduction, guests embark on a guided tour of the Zoo in the dark, where they can observe these elusive creatures in their natural habitat. Don’t miss out on the breathtaking views of the city at night that await you on this unforgettable adventure! So bundle up and bring your friend tomorrow, on March 16 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. for a howling great time.
