Covid-19 cases and hospitalizations are declining across the Commonwealth, Virginia Department of Health report shows

RICHMOND, Virginia – We will add statistics from the Virginia Department of Health to this post every week in order to give accurate, easy-to-read information about the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing vaccination efforts. Last week, there were 6,862 new cases, which is less than the week before (8,105).

VIRGINIA’S COVID-19

Positive Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 2,266,009 COVID-19 cases, which is 6,862 more than last Tuesday.

Since the start of the pandemic, 23,359 people have died because of COVID-19, which is 203 more than last Tuesday.

TESTING

CDC’s 7-Day Positivity for Virginia: 16.68% on January 25 (Down from 17.64% on January 18)

VACCINATIONS

6,333,362 people are fully vaccinated, which is 2,733 more than last week.
73.7% of the population has all its shots (No change from last week)

People who are fully vaccinated with boosters or extra doses: 5,257,073, which is an increase of 117,791 from last week.

COVID Community Levels: Metro Richmond is still at a medium level, and masks are only recommended for 4 places in Virginia.

Virginians who are 6 months old or older can get the COVID-19 vaccine. Call 877-VAX-IN-VA or go to the Vaccinate Virginia website (877-275-8343). On the Vaccine Finder website, you can also look for certain vaccines and find out where you can get them.
