Hundreds of users report that Instagram and Twitter are down in some parts of the world
There seem to be problems with Twitter and Instagram, as thousands of people have reported problems with the two social media apps.
Down Detector, a website that keeps track of internet outages, showed that around 10:48 a.m. Pacific Time on Wednesday, there was a big jump in the number of glitch reports for Instagram.
Around 12 or 1 p.m., a similar spike was also seen on Twitter, Facebook, Facebook Messenger, and a number of other services.
Several reporters said they couldn’t tweet on Wednesday. Instead, they got an error message that said, “You have already sent the maximum number of tweets for today.”
Many Twitter users who could still tweet said they were having trouble with Instagram, especially with posting Instagram Stories, while Reddit users said they were having trouble with Twitter.
Scheduling a tweet for the future, even if it’s only for a minute or two in the future, seems to be a way to get around the Twitter bug.
Since Elon Musk took over Twitter last October, users have been reporting more and more bugs. Musk fired more than half of the site’s staff, including many people who worked on its infrastructure.
Because of the size and scope of the cuts, many experts and current and former employees warned that Twitter’s reliability could be hurt.
