Powerball jackpot for Saturday’s drawing increased to $1.6 billion

Officials informed the public on Friday morning that the Powerball jackpot had increased to an estimated $1.6 billion. The anticipated amount would be a new record for the highest lottery prize ever if someone were to win it on Saturday night at the drawing.

The prize may either be paid out in the form of an annuity that is distributed over a period of 29 years or in the form of a lump sum payment of $782.4 million, according to the authorities.

Players have not been able to win the jackpot since August 3, which was the last time someone matched all five winning numbers and the Powerball. The numbers 2, 11, 22, 35, and 60, together with a Powerball of 23, were picked in the drawing that took place on Wednesday night.

There is one in 292.2 million chance that you may walk away with the grand prize.
