Two people with gunshot injuries admitted to emergency facilities in Pittsylvania County early Sunday morning

PITTSYLVANIA Co., Va. – After being shot in the neighborhood early on Sunday morning, two people rushed themselves to the nearest medical hospital in the area.

According to the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office, the 911 center received a report of shots being fired early in the morning in the Java community, specifically in or near the 500 block of Riceville Road. Prior to receiving the report of shots being fired, deputies were sent to the area in response to a report of loud music.

The crowd that was present when deputies arrived denied hearing any gunshot noise. Shortly after that, the Halifax and Danville emergency facilities notified the Pittsylvania Sheriff’s Office that two individuals had arrived seeking treatment for gunshot injuries.

Information regarding the conditions of the victims was not released.

Anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-791-0044. Information provided that might lead to an arrest and conviction is eligible for a potential reward of up to $5,000.
