Roanoke City Sheriff’s Office to host 2025 Safe Community Fair and Car Show in support of Project Lifesaver

Roanoke, Virginia – The Roanoke City Sheriff’s Office is inviting the community to come together for a day filled with excitement and purpose at the upcoming 2025 Safe Community Fair and Car Show on August 23. This family-friendly event will offer a variety of activities and showcase local talent and services—all while raising support for Project Lifesaver, a crucial initiative that helps protect individuals with cognitive conditions.

Scheduled to be a high-energy celebration, the event will include something for everyone—from car lovers and craft enthusiasts to families and community supporters. Visitors will get a chance to browse handmade crafts, connect with local vendors, listen to live music by DJ Flexx, and enjoy a range of community-based resources and giveaways.

A Car Show for a Cause

Car enthusiasts won’t want to miss the chance to enter their vehicle in the car show. The event is open to both civilian and law enforcement vehicles, including classic cars, cruisers, bikes, and more. Trophies will be awarded, offering not only recognition but also those sought-after bragging rights.

Project Lifesaver: A Lifesaving Initiative

Proceeds from the event will go directly toward Project Lifesaver, a program that utilizes personalized radio-frequency technology to help quickly locate individuals with cognitive impairments—such as autism, Alzheimer’s, or dementia—who are at risk of wandering. Specially trained law enforcement officers use this technology to bring vulnerable loved ones home safely. This support enables the Sheriff’s Office to continue protecting those most in need in the community.

Organizers are still accepting car show entries and welcoming craft and resource vendors to participate. Whether you’re showcasing a prize-winning vehicle or looking to support the community with your business or nonprofit, the event offers a valuable opportunity to engage with the public.
