Feeding Southwest Virginia joins National Letter Carriers Association for virtual Stamp Out Hunger food drive

Roanoke, Virginia – Feeding Southwest Virginia, a non-profit organization dedicated to alleviating food insecurity, has proudly announced its participation in the highly anticipated annual “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive, organized by the National Letters Carriers Association.

This year, the event is going virtual, taking place from May 1st to May 19th, and Roanoke residents are encouraged to donate online through Feeding Southwest’s website or by scanning the QR code on postcards they receive.

In light of the unprecedented challenges posed by the ongoing pandemic, this year’s food drive has become more critical than ever before. By donating just one dollar, generous contributors can help provide three meals to families struggling to put food on the table.

Pamela Irvine, the esteemed CEO and President at Feeding Southwest Virginia, remarked that adapting to this virtual model was an exciting and fun choice for the 31st annual food drive. The nonprofit is confident that, by harnessing the power of technology, they will be able to make a greater impact and raise more funds than in previous years.

For more than three decades, the National Association of Letter Carriers has been organizing the “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive, collecting over 1.8 billion pounds of food across the United States throughout the year.

Feeding Southwest Virginia is honored to participate in such a significant initiative and invites residents of Roanoke to join them in their mission to end hunger in the region. Let’s come together to make a difference and support our neighbors in need!
