Roanoke County announces business grant to help local companies purchase new capital equipment

Roanoke, Virginia – The Roanoke County Economic Development Authority has announced the Business Equipment Acquisition Program (BEAP) Grant, offering local businesses a valuable chance to receive reimbursement-based funding for approved capital equipment purchases. This initiative aims to support the growth of businesses located in Roanoke County or the Town of Vinton by helping offset some of the costs tied to acquiring essential equipment.

Eligible for-profit businesses can apply to receive up to 50 percent of equipment costs, with a maximum award of $20,000. The funding is designed to ease the financial burden for local companies investing in tools and technology that can help expand operations, improve services, or boost productivity.

Important Details for Interested Businesses

To qualify, businesses must meet several key requirements:

  • Employ at least two full-time employees or full-time equivalents at a physical location within Roanoke County or the Town of Vinton

  • Have operated as a for-profit business in the county or town for at least one year

  • Hold a current business license from Roanoke County or the Town of Vinton

  • Be in good standing with all local taxes, fees, ordinances, and assessments

The application deadline is September 5, 2025, giving businesses time to review their needs and prepare submissions.
