Bristol woman in a romantic relationship with defendant admits she lied under oath during his federal hearing to protect him from assault charges

Bristol, Virginia – A Bristol woman has admitted to lying while under oath during a federal court hearing in an attempt to protect her boyfriend, who was being investigated for violating the terms of his supervised release.

False Testimony Exposed During Court Hearing

Blaklee Buchanan, 27, appeared in federal court in Abingdon and pled guilty to one count of making false material declarations under oath before a United States court. The charge stems from her statements made during a supervised release revocation hearing for her boyfriend, Bradford Loudy. Buchanan now faces up to five years in federal prison, with sentencing scheduled for October 28, 2025.

According to court records, Buchanan testified as a witness on June 13, 2023, during the revocation hearing involving Loudy, with whom she was in a romantic relationship at the time. Under oath, she was questioned about an incident that occurred on March 23, 2023, in which Loudy was alleged to have physically assaulted her.

When asked directly whether Loudy had assaulted her on that day, Buchanan denied all allegations. “He never touched me,” she claimed in response to whether Loudy had hit her with a sandal. When further questioned if he “bashed her head against a retaining wall, pushed her down, kicked her, and hit her,” she again answered, “No.”

Despite her denials, the assault was reportedly witnessed by two other individuals who also testified in the case. When confronted with the fact that others had testified to witnessing the assault, Buchanan doubled down, saying, “Yes. I have no clue who they are. He doesn’t beat me. He did not beat me. He did not hit me,” and “No, he did not assault me on May or March 23.”

Investigators later determined that Buchanan’s statements were knowingly false. The assault in question had, in fact, occurred and had been corroborated by eyewitnesses.

The charges and plea were announced by Acting United States Attorney Zachary T. Lee. Assistant United States Attorney Danielle Stone is handling the prosecution. Buchanan now awaits sentencing for her actions that attempted to conceal an act of domestic violence under federal investigation.
