Virginia Governor Youngkin announces Armed Forces Brewing Company’s move to Norfolk

Richmond, Virginia – In a recent announcement by Virginia’s Governor Glenn Youngkin, the Armed Forces Brewing Company – a beer company known for its military tributes – will soon set its base of operations and open a brewing facility in the City of Norfolk.

As per Governor Youngkin’s press release, this development signifies the creation of numerous job opportunities in Norfolk. It’s also worth noting that the state of Virginia was successful in its bid against Florida and Maryland to become the home base for the Armed Forces Brewing Company.

In a welcoming note, Governor Youngkin stated, “We are proud to welcome Armed Forces Brewing Company’s headquarters and first brewing facility to the Commonwealth. The company acknowledges that Virginia’s strategic location, favorable business environment, and our considerable military and veteran presence in Hampton Roads will contribute to its prosperity in its new home base, the City of Norfolk. We eagerly anticipate a fruitful partnership.”

Caren Merrick, the Secretary of Commerce and Trade, also chimed in, saying, “Securing this project reiterates that Virginia’s logistic infrastructure and its closeness to customers and suppliers offer competitive advantages for businesses in the food and beverage processing industry, the second-largest manufacturing sector in the Commonwealth. Hampton Roads is globally recognized for its prominent military presence, and we are confident that Norfolk will supply the talent Armed Forces Brewing Company is seeking.”

CEO of Armed Forces Brewing Company, Alan Beal, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “We are thrilled to open our primary brewery and taproom in Norfolk, a wonderful American city with a significant population of veterans, active-duty military personnel, and their families. Virginia stands out as one of the best states to initiate a brewing business. Governor Youngkin urged our team to consider closely what Virginia has to offer, and we did. This is now our headquarters, and we’re committed to hiring veterans and becoming an integral part of the patriotic community in Norfolk.”
