Aylett resident and her father win $210,000 Cash 5 jackpot after using Easy Pick numbers
Aylett, Virginia – A Virginia woman and her father turned a simple lottery outing into a life-changing experience after one ticket revealed a six-figure jackpot win.
Allison Williams of Aylett and her dad had been spending time together visiting several stores to purchase lottery tickets, enjoying the experience as a shared activity. During one of those stops, they picked up a Cash 5 with EZ Match ticket at Chill Stop, located at 5033 Richmond Tappahannock Highway in Aylett. That ticket would soon change everything.
Lucky Numbers Lead to $210,000 Jackpot
The ticket purchased by Williams turned out to be a jackpot winner in the March 7 drawing, securing a prize worth $210,000.
The winning numbers drawn that day were 01-02-17-27-33, and Williams did not choose them herself. Instead, she used the Easy Pick option, allowing the computer to randomly generate the numbers on her ticket.
When the results came in, the pair found it difficult to believe what they were seeing. The moment quickly shifted from excitement to disbelief, as they repeatedly checked the ticket to make sure it was real.
“I really don’t know how I feel,” the Aylett woman told Virginia Lottery officials when she claimed her prize. “We did a lot of checking on Sunday because we didn’t believe it.”
The emotional reaction reflected just how unexpected the win was, especially considering the long odds involved.
According to lottery officials, Cash 5 with EZ Match features a rolling jackpot that starts at a minimum of $200,000, making wins like this both rare and highly sought after.
The odds of matching all five numbers to win the jackpot are 1 in 1,221,759, meaning Williams and her father beat significant chances to secure the prize.
The winning ticket, purchased during what began as a routine outing, quickly became a memorable moment for the family.
While details about how the winnings will be used were not disclosed, the experience itself has already left a lasting impression on Williams and her father, who turned a simple day of buying tickets into a story they will never forget.
