Pedestrian safety improvement project on Route 11 to cause temporary closure at Plymouth Drive

Roanoke, Virginia – Drivers in the Roanoke area are advised to prepare for upcoming traffic delays as construction continues on the pedestrian safety improvement project along Route 11 (Williamson Road). The project aims to enhance safety at key intersections and is part of a larger effort to protect walkers and reduce accidents in the area.

On Friday, February 6, a lane closure will be in place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The closure will specifically affect Plymouth Drive at its intersection with Williamson Road, and motorists are encouraged to use caution or consider alternate routes during that time.

More lane closures are anticipated in March as the project progresses, with final completion scheduled for May. City officials remind drivers to stay alert and patient as these improvements are made for long-term pedestrian safety.
