Roanoke County woman arrested after dog attack that left one hospitalized
Roanoke County, Virginia – An incident in the Glenvar area of Roanoke County has led to the arrest of a dog owner and a neighbor following a violent attack involving a dog and the use of a firearm. Authorities confirmed that Tiffany Turner, 37, of Roanoke County, was taken into custody on Monday, October 6, 2025, in connection to the dog attack that left a local resident hospitalized.
According to Roanoke County officials, Turner faces one felony count of animal attack resulting from owner’s disregard for human life under §18.2-52.2, along with two counts of permitting a dog at large and two counts of harboring a nuisance animal, both under local County Code statutes. Her arrest stems from an incident last week in which her dog reportedly attacked a neighbor in the Glenvar area, causing serious injuries.
The victim remains hospitalized as of the latest update and is listed in stable condition. Authorities have not released the name of the injured individual but confirmed the dog involved in the incident was known to roam the area.
In a related arrest, Brian Hill, 52, also of Roanoke County, was taken into custody after reportedly discharging a firearm during the dog attack. Hill was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (§18.2-308.2) and misdemeanor reckless handling of a firearm (§18.2-56.1). Law enforcement did not disclose whether Hill’s actions resulted in any additional injuries, but noted that the firearm discharge occurred during the heat of the incident.
The Roanoke County Police Department continues to investigate the case and is asking anyone with further information to come forward and contact Sgt. E. Hubble at 540-777-8606.
The charges highlight the seriousness of allowing aggressive or uncontrolled animals to roam freely, particularly when it results in harm to others. It also underscores the consequences of involving a firearm in such a chaotic situation.
As legal proceedings move forward, both Turner and Hill will face court appearances related to their respective charges.
