Three Virginia players win fifty thousand dollars each as Powerball jackpot continues to rise

Henrico, Virginia – The August 30 Powerball drawing brought good fortune to many in Virginia, with a staggering 128,405 tickets winning prizes. Among the winners were three fortunate players who each won $50,000 after matching four of the first five numbers plus the Powerball number.

The winning $50,000 tickets were purchased at the following locations:

  • Publix, 4591 South Laburnum Avenue in Henrico

  • Kroger, 2801 Hicks Road in North Chesterfield

  • 7-Eleven, 3500 Deep Creek Boulevard in Portsmouth

Despite these substantial wins, no ticket sold in Virginia or elsewhere managed to match all six numbers to claim the top prize. As a result, the Powerball jackpot continues to grow and is now estimated at a remarkable $1.1 billion for the next drawing scheduled on Monday, September 1.

Powerball tickets can be purchased at more than 5,300 Virginia Lottery retailers across the state or conveniently online through the Virginia Lottery app. Drawings are held three times a week—on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays—at 10:59 p.m..

Players can win prizes ranging from $2 to the full jackpot, depending on the number of matches. While the odds of hitting the jackpot are 1 in 292,201,338, the odds of winning any prize stand at 1 in 25.

Participants must be at least 18 years old to play any Virginia Lottery game. With the jackpot continuing to soar, excitement is rising across the state as players hope to strike it rich in the next draw.
