Ruckersville lottery player claims second top prize in Jewel 7s scratcher game worth $500,000

Ruckersville, Virginia – A Ruckersville resident’s instincts led to a life-changing win after purchasing a Virginia Lottery scratcher ticket.

A Feeling That Paid Off

Stephen Trainum said he had a sense that something big was about to happen. “I just had this feeling that a big one was coming!” he told Virginia Lottery officials. That instinct brought him to the Sheetz on Seminole Drive in Ruckersville, where he bought a Jewel 7s ticket.

When he scratched it, Trainum discovered he had won the game’s $500,000 top prize. “It’s incredible, the feeling is just incredible!” he said. “It’s totally unexpected!”

Trainum said he plans to use his winnings to pay bills and may take a nice vacation.
