Alexandria, Virginia – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has announced planned overnight closures of the westbound King Street (Route 7) ramps leading to both directions of Interstate 395 for paving operations. These closures are set to take place, weather permitting, on Tuesday, June 3, and Wednesday, June 4.

According to VDOT, the closures will be in effect during the following timeframes:
-
From 11 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, to 4 a.m. Wednesday, June 4
-
From 11 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, to 4 a.m. Thursday, June 5
During these hours, both the northbound and southbound I-395 access ramps from westbound King Street will be inaccessible. As an alternative, motorists will be detoured via westbound King Street/Leesburg Pike, then westbound Columbia Pike (Route 244), and finally loop back eastbound on Leesburg Pike/King Street to access I-395.
