Governor Youngkin announces job creation and economic boost with AD Engineering expansion

Quicksburg, Virginia – In a move to boost Shenandoah County’s manufacturing industry and support economic growth in Virginia, Governor Glenn Youngkin announced earlier this week that AD Engineering will expand its operations, investing $1.21 million to expand its manufacturing facility in Quicksburg. The project, which focuses on producing essential components for HVAC systems, will create 25 new jobs and further solidify Virginia’s standing in the advanced materials sector. AD Engineering, a certified small, women, and minority-owned (SWAM) business, specializes in manufacturing insulated copper linesets, coils, and mini splits for HVAC equipment.

Supporting Virginia’s Growing Manufacturing Sector

Governor Youngkin praised the project, noting, “AD Engineering’s expansion in Shenandoah County exemplifies the innovative spirit driving Virginia’s diverse manufacturing sector. As a SWAM-certified business, AD Engineering showcases the entrepreneurial talent thriving in the Shenandoah Valley. This investment not only creates valuable jobs but also strengthens Virginia’s position in the advanced materials industry.” The expansion emphasizes Virginia’s commitment to supporting and expanding homegrown businesses, especially those led by underrepresented groups.

Caren Merrick, Virginia’s Secretary of Commerce and Trade, highlighted the state’s efforts to support local businesses. “We’re helping homegrown Virginia businesses like AD Engineering expand and create new opportunities,” Merrick stated. “Their success story is a testament to the robust ecosystem we’ve built for nurturing and scaling innovative enterprises across the Commonwealth.”

AD Engineering’s Commitment to Shenandoah County

AD Engineering’s President, Ashley Driver, expressed gratitude toward the support the company has received from both the state and local economic development teams. Driver noted, “Shenandoah County and the State of Virginia are both ideal places to cultivate a new business. We are extremely proud to be operating here. The local and state economic development staff have made it seamless to understand and access programs and resources. Further, there is a pool of technical, experienced labor to draw from. We look forward to continuing to grow in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.” Driver’s appreciation underscores Shenandoah County’s supportive environment for new and expanding businesses.

Local and State Leaders Celebrate AD Engineering’s Expansion

Local officials welcomed the company’s expansion, which aligns with regional economic goals and provides additional job opportunities. Dennis Morris, Chairman of the Shenandoah County Board of Supervisors, shared his enthusiasm: “On behalf of the Board of Supervisors and Economic Development Authority of Shenandoah County, we are excited to welcome AD Engineering to Shenandoah County and look forward to supporting them through their growth and development.”

Virginia state officials also echoed their support for the expansion. Senator Timmy French emphasized the positive community impact, saying, “This type of economic growth generates positive outcomes for our community and for Virginia.” Delegate Todd Gilbert added, “When state government is a help, not a hindrance, to our local businesses, we can accomplish great things.”

Leveraging Virginia’s Economic Development Programs

Headquartered in Quicksburg, AD Engineering is a key player in HVAC and refrigeration manufacturing. The company supplies a wide range of HVAC products, including custom items for both residential and commercial markets, and boasts a top-level team with over 60 years of industry experience.

Virginia’s support for AD Engineering extends through its Virginia Jobs Investment Program (VJIP), which assists companies in creating new jobs through consultative services and funding. This state-funded program demonstrates Virginia’s dedication to enhancing job opportunities by reducing the human resource costs associated with expanding businesses.

In addition to VJIP, AD Engineering has been selected to join the Virginia Economic Gardening Program, which offers strategic research to growth-oriented businesses. This program provides resources to help companies identify new markets, track industry trends, and assess competitors. Together, these programs illustrate Virginia’s commitment to supporting local businesses in their expansion efforts, reinforcing the Commonwealth’s strong focus on economic growth and job creation.

A Promising Future for Shenandoah County and Virginia

The $1.21 million investment from AD Engineering is not only significant for the company but also represents a broader commitment to economic progress in Shenandoah County. By fostering a business-friendly environment, Virginia is able to attract and retain companies that contribute to the local economy and create meaningful jobs for residents. With ongoing support from state and local officials, AD Engineering is set to grow and continue its success in the Shenandoah Valley, proving that the Commonwealth’s dedication to economic growth benefits both businesses and the communities they serve.
