Roanoke police seek public input in pursuit of CALEA Accreditation

Roanoke, Virginia – In a bid to participate in the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) Law Enforcement Accreditation process, the Roanoke Police Department and Roanoke Police Academy are calling upon the city’s residents for their valuable input.

The police departments are particularly interested in the community’s perspectives on several matters, including the quality of public safety services provided, the extent of community engagement, and the overall suitability of the departments for the accreditation status.

The Roanoke Police Department explains that the ultimate objective of this accreditation process is to identify areas for improvement within the agency, thereby optimizing its overall efficacy.

Community members are encouraged to share their feedback on the performance of the departments by accessing the provided link.

The departments are keen to hear from residents, and there is no predetermined deadline for submitting feedback. The online portal for public responses will remain accessible indefinitely.
