Roanoke City Sheriff’s Office to host charity Event for Special Olympics Virginia

Roanoke, Virginia – The Roanoke City Sheriff’s Office has announced a forthcoming charity event, aiming to generate funds for Special Olympics Virginia.

On May 24, Wednesday, deputies from Roanoke City will be situated at the intersection of Third Street and Campbell Avenue, where they will serve a lunch menu including hot dogs, nachos, and chips. Additionally, attendees will be afforded the opportunity to partake in a ‘dunk a deputy’ game in their dunk tank from the hours of 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This event comes on the heels of a recent successful fundraiser organized by the Roanoke City Sheriff’s Office, held outside the Red Robin restaurant. That occasion succeeded in amassing a sum of $1,676, which has been allocated to Special Olympics Virginia.

As expressed by representatives of the Sheriff’s Office, “As a community-focused department, we are committed to not only helping monetarily but bringing attention to this great cause.” These fundraising efforts underscore the department’s commitment to supporting important community initiatives.
