Residents in several states are reporting strange powder in the air on Friday, ongoing investigation
Reports of a powder in the air and on some cars in mid-Atlantic states are being looked into by the government.
The dust-like substance was found in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, about 100 miles west of Washington, D.C., on Friday. The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection said it is working to collect and test samples of the substance.
People in West Virginia, northern Virginia, and Maryland say they have seen the powder in the air and on cars.
A representative from the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection says there is no evidence that the powder is connected to the toxic train accident in Ohio on February 3.
