Two buildings with the Roanoke City Public Schools (RCPS) should get new names. The school board seeks public help
ROANOKE, Virginia – The Roanoke City School Board’s Naming Committee wants to hear from the public about the names of the Roanoke City Public Schools (RCPS) Administration Building on Campbell Avenue and the new Roanoke Technical Education Center next to William Fleming High School. The committee is looking at the suggestions that have been sent in.
The public has until Tuesday, Feb. 28, to fill out a short survey about the nominations and share their thoughts.
From 6 to 8 p.m., the Naming Committee will also hold a public meeting. Anyone who wants to speak in person can do so on Thursday, February 23, at the Media Center in the Administration Building on Douglass Avenue (40 Douglass Ave. NW).
On the Naming Committee’s website, which you can find by clicking here, there is a link to the survey, a presentation with biographical information on all eligible nominations, a timeline of the nomination process, and a video with more information.
The Naming Committee and the School Board want to finish naming the new ROTEC and the Administrative Building on Campbell Avenue by Spring Break.
