Roanoke City Sheriff’s Office expands support for unsheltered residents with quarterly Pop-Up Tent event

Roanoke, Virginia – The Roanoke City Sheriff’s Office is continuing its commitment to helping those in need through its quarterly Life Essential Pop-Up Tent Initiative. This community-focused event provides critical resources to the unsheltered population and those facing hardship by offering food, wellness services, and essential items at no cost.

With the support of several generous sponsors, this initiative aims to provide direct assistance to individuals in need. This quarter’s event is made possible thanks to partnerships with State Farm, Roanoke City Library, Food Lion, and The Wellness Wagon. Their contributions ensure that vital supplies and services reach the community, helping to improve lives and create a safer, healthier Roanoke.

The success of the Pop-Up Tent Initiative is a result of collaboration between the Sheriff’s Office and dedicated community organizations. These partners work hand in hand to offer valuable resources, from food and wellness support to informational assistance for individuals seeking long-term solutions.

Community members who would like to assist with this initiative are encouraged to contribute in-kind or monetary donations. The Sheriff’s Office also invites residents to share information about the event with anyone who may benefit.

Upcoming Event Details

Residents in need of assistance are invited to the Life Essential Pop-Up Tent, which will be set up at Market Square Plaza, 1 Market Square SE, Roanoke, VA 24011, on the following dates:

  • March 19th
  • June 8th
  • More dates to come

The event will take place from 11 AM to 12 PM and will provide food, hygiene essentials, and access to important resources.
