Weekend ramp closure at Exit 141 to impact Interstate 81 southbound traffic

Roanoke, Virginia – As part of the Interstate 81 Lane Widening Construction Project, drivers in Roanoke County should prepare for a weekend-long closure of the southbound Exit 141 ramp (Route 419). The closure will begin at 8 p.m. on Friday, November 22, and continue through 5:30 a.m. on Monday, November 25. This extended shutdown will allow crews to conduct deep mill paving as part of ongoing improvements between Exit 137 (Wildwood Road) and Exit 141.

Alternate Route Advised

During the closure, southbound drivers needing to access Interstate 81 should use Exit 140 (Route 311) as an alternate route. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead to avoid delays and disruptions.

This project is part of a larger effort to widen Interstate 81 and improve traffic flow and safety. Regular updates on the construction schedule can be found through local transportation resources.
