Camrett Logistics to expands operations in Wythe County with $575,000 investment and new jobs

Wytheville, Virginia – Governor Glenn Youngkin announced that Camrett Logistics, a full-service third-party logistics (3PL) company based in Wytheville, will invest $575,000 to expand its warehouse in Wythe County. This expansion is aimed at enhancing the company’s ability to support local manufacturers and will create 10 new jobs in the area.

“This expansion will help Camrett Logistics strengthen its Wythe County operations and Virginia’s supply chain ecosystem alike,” said Governor Youngkin. “We are always gratified to see a homegrown Virginia company continue to invest in the Commonwealth.”

Secretary of Commerce and Trade Caren Merrick emphasized the significance of Camrett Logistics in the region, stating, “Camrett Logistics is an integral part of the supply chain in southwestern Virginia. This expansion will help their clients continue to provide customers with top-notch services.”

Growth Driven by Employee Dedication

Camrett Logistics President Cameron Peel highlighted the company’s rapid growth over the past year, which includes creating 58 jobs in Pulaski County and acquiring a new facility in Wytheville. Peel attributed much of this success to the company’s dedicated employees.

“As Camrett Logistics continues to grow, the company remains committed to fostering a positive work environment that empowers employees to thrive and contribute to the organization’s continued success,” Peel said. He noted that the new Wytheville facility will serve as a distribution center for bottles and American food products, which will be loaded in containers and shipped to American Armed Forces bases worldwide via the Port of Virginia.

Local Leaders Celebrate Expansion

Wythe County leaders expressed their pride in Camrett Logistics’ continued success. Brian W. Vaught, Chairman of the Wythe County Board of Supervisors, praised the company’s role in the local economy. “Camrett is an integral part of our industrial community and is a prime example of the collaboration that keeps Wythe County at the center of progress,” he said.

Senator Travis Hackworth also commended the company, stating, “It always brings me joy to see existing Virginia companies like Camrett Logistics expand and grow operations in the communities where they were originally planted.” Delegate Jonathan Arnold echoed this sentiment, calling the expansion “great news for Wythe County” and a testament to the company’s ongoing commitment to the region.

Supporting Virginia’s Economic Development

Camrett Logistics, founded in 1995, has been a key player in providing warehouse and 3PL services in Southwest Virginia. The company operates 11 facilities throughout the state, with locations along the Interstate 81 corridor, including Pulaski County, Rockbridge County, Bluefield, Wythe County, and the City of Roanoke.

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership worked closely with Wythe County to secure this expansion project. The company is eligible for state benefits through the Virginia Enterprise Zone Program, administered by the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development. Additionally, funding and services to support employee training will be provided through the Virginia Jobs Investment Program.

Camrett Logistics’ expansion represents a significant investment in Virginia’s economic future, bolstering local job opportunities and strengthening the state’s supply chain infrastructure.
