17-month-old boy dies after his mother’s boyfriend violently shook and beat the boy to death only because he was upset the baby couldn’t walk

Nevada – In a heartbreaking incident in Nevada, a young toddler lost his life under tragic circumstances, leading to the arrest of 28-year-old C. Rabino. Charged with first-degree murder and two counts of child abuse resulting in serious bodily harm, Rabino faces severe legal repercussions for his actions.

On June 1, authorities received a distressing 911 call about a 17-month-old child, identified as K. Tesoro, who was not breathing. Responding swiftly, officers and paramedics rushed to the scene, where they found Tesoro in a critical state. He was immediately transported to the hospital for urgent care.

At the hospital, the medical team discovered alarming signs of abuse. Tesoro exhibited severe injuries on his head, indicative of non-accidental trauma, likely from violent shaking and beating. Moreover, he had a broken leg, which doctors attributed to being subjected to a large amount of force. The hospital staff, shocked by the severity of the injuries, remarked that it was one of the worst cases of abuse they had ever encountered in their professional careers.

During the investigation, Rabino, who was “caring” for Tesoro at the time of the incident, claimed that the child had suddenly started having trouble breathing. He suggested that Tesoro had been unwell with a fever over the past few days, hinting at a possible natural cause for the distress. Tesoro’s mother initially supported Rabino’s account, telling the hospital staff that her son had fallen off a bed recently.

However, medical experts quickly dismissed the fall from the bed as the cause of the injuries, stating that the severity and nature of the trauma Tesoro suffered did not align with such an accident. Upon further questioning, a witness came forward, contradicting the initial explanations provided by Tesoro’s mother and Rabino. The witness accused Rabino of being responsible for the injuries and alleged that Tesoro’s mother had lied about the fall. Additionally, it was revealed that Rabino had dissuaded her from seeking immediate medical attention for Tesoro.

Further investigation led to Tesoro’s mother admitting that she had witnessed Rabino abusing her son on previous occasions. She described a scene where Rabino, frustrated with Tesoro’s inability to walk, forcefully set him on the floor, resulting in broken legs. She also recounted an instance where Rabino violently shook Tesoro because he was crying.

Following the devastating turn of events, Tesoro was placed on life support, only to be pronounced dead five days later, on June 6, after being taken off life support. In a bittersweet gesture, his organs were donated, offering hope to other children in need. Christian Moniz Rabino is now held in jail without bond, awaiting a preliminary hearing scheduled for August 7. The community, while grappling with the horror of the circumstances, has rallied to support Tesoro’s family through a GoFundMe campaign to cover funeral expenses.
