Dad of 11-year-old boy who weighed only 42 pounds at the time of his death due to severe abuse by his parents and was held zip-tied in the basement pleads guilty four years later after being sentenced for s****l exploitation of a minor

Court records show that a 38-year-old man who was sentenced to 15 years in prison in connection with child se* crime charges that came to light following a murder investigation into his son’s death pleaded guilty to the heinous crime committed against his son one day after the sentencing in the child se*ual exploitation case.

The 11-year-old boy was first reported missing by his parents, 38-year-old Jordan and 40-year-old Lindsay, almost four years ago, as they were attempting to hide the horrific truth while actually knowing his whereabouts the whole time. But their secret was revealed later that same day, as soon as authorities went to their home. After searching the area, investigators entered the family’s basement and located the body of 11-year-old Roman hidden in a storage bin. The investigation showed the boy was subjected to severe abuse for an extended period of time, where he found himself often beaten, starved, and even restrained with zip ties. An autopsy showed that the boy weighed only 42 pounds at the time of his death.

Jordan and Lindsay were first charged with torture and child abuse over his death, and six months later they were additionally charged with second-degree murder. The couple maintained their innocence for some period when eventually first the mother changed the plea from “not guilty” to “no contest” and was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison, while the father “stood firmly” on the not guilty plea, up until after the sentencing for child se* crime charges.

During the murder investigation, authorities seized several digital devices from the couple’s home, where they discovered child se*ual abuse materials, including over 400 images of a nude minor on Jordan’s cellphone. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison in a federal child se*ual exploitation case for making “surreptitious recordings” of a girl under 18. The day after the sentencing, he also pleaded guilty to his son’s death. Jordan is set to be sentenced for the second-degree murder charge on November 21 and is facing 15 years to life in prison.
